SO.SHEL

SO.SHEL / 2013

The volume of the music on big festivals often makes it hard to communicate with others. I wanted to come up with a solution for this problem . I was looking for a way to distance oneself from the music without leaving the party.

Prolonged exposure to high volumes may cause hearing damage. This makes it harder to distinguish different sounds. I know from my own experience that this makes communication very difficult. I came up with the idea to design a shelter that allows people to have a short conversation without leaving the concert hall. This demountable construction provides a quiet spot within the concert area

I wanted the shell to be robust and architectural, with geometrical planes that can be used to project images upon

Unfortunately this project had to be stopped during construction due the lack of funds for acoustic materials
